Well... I like it.

I'm pretty pleased with how this came out. Panel 3 might be one of my favorite drawings on the comic that I've done yet. It seems like I always like the art for the Eric comics the best.

I never really seem to have much to say for these things.

This is Sparta!

I had the pleasure of watching the film 300 yesterday. I say pleasure because I did enjoy the movie very much. However, I was struck that it was a very different manner of enjoyment from that which I am normally used to.

Kevin and I like to focus on character and story in the comic. I think we do a good job and hopefully it shows through. Normally, character and story are what I go to the theatre to see on the screen. 300 however was not exceptionally notable in this area.

Instead, I found myself enjoy the film primarily as a sensory experience. The color and texture of the image was very striking and there was a lot of focus on motion and blocking that was very interesting. The music and sound were also particularly a part of the experience, King Xerxes for example is given a superhumanly deep and commanding voice. In fact, this was the first movie where I have really been impressed with its visual qualities since Sin City, another movie based off of Frank MIller's comic book work.

I'm just going to abruptly end this column. If you don't like it, suck it up!
